She was predeceased by: her parents, Mossette Lee and Nettie Boyette Hobbs; her husband Clark Earl Rice; her daughter Sharon Buckner; and her brothers, Leslie Hobbs and Carroll Hobbs.
She is survived by: her daughters, Kathryn Bass of Clinton and Brenda Greene (Larry) of Greenville, SC; her sisters, Jane Hobbs Herring (David, Jr.) of Newton Grove and Lynette Hobbs Harrell (Robert) of Winston Salem; her sisters-in-law, Harriett Hobbs and Jean Hobbs; and her grandchildren, Miriam Abney of New York City, NY, David Buckner of Savannah, GA, Melissa Wayne (Gregory) of Wilmington, Susannah Carter (Bryan) of Mount Pleasant, SC, Alexander Chisholm of Clinton, Matthew and Mary Beth Greene of Greenville, SC. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mildred Rice Memorial Fund at Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
