He was predeceased by: his parent Howard Boyette; his wife Jerusha Tart Boyette; his son John E. Boyette, Jr.; his son-in-law Neal A. Daughtry; and his siblings, Edith Breshears, Joann Harris, Nadine Lohr, Thomas Boyette, Ernest Boyette and Leon Boyette.

He is survived by: his parent Janie Boyette Bass King; his daughter Sheila B. Daughtry of Garland; and his grandchildren, Rick Daughtry, Christopher Daughtry and Kylie Daughtry.
