He was predeceased by: his parents, Carlton Allen and Eloise Holland Precythe; his wife Hilda Brogden Precythe; his daughter Rita Jean Precythe; and his sister Julia Ann Harris.
He is survived by: his daughter Betsy L.; his son-in-law Glenn Hood of Goldsboro; his son Joseph Carlton Precythe (Jerry Ridenhour) of Hillsboro; his grandchildren, Blake Precythe (Kim), Taylor and Garrett Hood; and his great grandchild Ava Grace Precythe.
