He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd F. Matthews and Ida Hollingsworth Matthews. He is survived by: his wife Ann Warren Matthews; and his children, Glenn Matthews (Susan) of Mount Olive, Eddie Matthews (Ollie) of Tennessee, Susan M. Pearce (Alan) of Ayden and David Matthews (Lynda) of Winterville. He is also survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
