He is survived by: his wife Shirley Jernigan Bass; his siblings, Wanda Strickland (Randy) of Clinton, Patricia Jernigan (Charles) of Clinton, Lenwood Bass (Mary) of Clinton and Pam Barns of Atkinson; his children, Ann Shull (Chris) of Kenly and Curtis Pierce (Angie) of Newton Grove; his grandchildren, Alan Hawkins (Ashley) of Tarboro and Natalie Kubow (Joshua) of Oklahoma; his great grandchildren, Gavin Hawkins, Hosanna Kubow and Noah Kubow; and his sisters-in-law, Shelby Barefoot (Joe) and Peggy Barefoot (Jack) of Dunn. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
