He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore "Dode" Whitaker and Edith Goforth Whitaker; and his children, Larry Michael Whitaker and Judy Whitaker Medford. He is survived by: his wife Julia Darnell Whitaker; his son Timothy Whitaker (Diane); his son-in-law Mike Medford; his grandchildren, Ashley Glenn, Amber Whitaker, Eli Medford and Chloe Medford; his great grandchildren, Magnolia and Ruby; and his siblings, Ted Whitaker and Lora Robinson.
