He was predeceased by: his parents, James Richard Ward and Ruby Elizabeth Brackett Ward; and his wife Janice Ruth Ward. He is survived by: his siblings, Terry, Lloyd Ward, Mary Ann Schram and Joyce Graves; his children, James Ward Jr. of Fairview, NC and Cassie Whitaker (Corby) of Fairview, NC; his brothers, George Ward (JoAnn) of Asheville, NC and Tommy Ward (Vicki) of Asheville, NC; and his grandsons, Corbett and Brandon Whtaker of Fairview, NC.
