He is survived by: his son William "Willie" McLaughlin (Deborah) of Swannanoa; his grandchildren, William "Willie" McLaughlin, Jr. (Shawna) of Southport, NC, Tanya McLaughlin of Virginia and Jennifer McLaughlin of Myrtle Beach, SC; and his siblings, Dickey McLaughlin, Edwina, Carolyn, Pat, Patsy and Hazel.
