He was predeceased by: his wife Doris; his daughters, Cathy D. Harris and Deborah Fields; and his siblings, Alfred, Tom, Betty and Margie.
He is survived by: his daughters, Cynthia Gibson (Franklin) of Old Fort and Donna Vess (Kelly) of Fairview; his grandchildren, Dewayne, Wade, Doug, Johnny Lee, Jennifer, Nichole, Kelly Jr. and Lexi; his brother Rex Harris (Ann) of Fairview; and his close friend Wilma Gentry of Asheville. He is also survived by twelve great grandchildren.
