He was predeceased by: his wife Sarah Agnes Hunt; his parents, Agnus Hunt and Effie Hunt; and his siblings, Gretchen Hunt Blue and Welford Hunt.

He is survived by: his children, Stanford Hunt (Audrey) of Gastonia, Andy Hunt (Peggy) of Lumberton, Phillip Hunt (Ella Mae) of Fairmont, Aundra Hunt (Helen) of Fairmont and Olivia Hunt-Kono (Richard) of Fairmont; and his sister Zema Dell Hunt of Lumberton. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a host of relatives and friends.
