She is survived by: her spouse J. C. Chavis Sr.; her son Jacky Goodwin of Hoke Co; her stepchildren, Vertis Chavis Mitchell (Alfonsa) of Fairmont, Sharon Chavis of Fairmont, J. C. Chavis Jr., Dallas Chavis of Fairmont and James R. Chavis of Charlotte, NC; her sister Connie Rogers Locklear of Raeford; her friend Debbie; and her cousin Randy Freeman. She is also survived by step grandchildren and (11) step great grandchildren.
