With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Marilyn Lucille Hunt of Fairmont, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 6, 2024 at the age of 82. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred "Larce" Hunt and Lonnie Oxendine Hunt; her husband Gerald Lee Jones; her brothers, Cleveland, Hoarce, Pete and Ralph; her pet Sanford "SJ"; and her sisters, Margie Anne Hunt, Mary Collins, Maitland Hicks, Maggie Locklear, Martha Hunt and Gerlene Jacobs.
She is survived by: her children, Vicky Rose Strickland (Hal) of Fairmont, NC and Rickey Hunt (Lisha) of Fairmont, NC; her grandchildren, Sheila Renee Strickland of Lumberton, NC, Sheena Rainey (Howard) of Lumberton, NC, Richard Hunt of Lumberton, NC, Morris Hunt of Lumberton, NC and Latina Hunt of Lumberton, NC; her great grandchildren, Jordan Dewayne Strickland (Taylor), Destiny Hunt, Landan Sampson, Noah, Joshua Rainey, Jacob, Koby, Trinity and Elsie Elizabeth Hunt; her great great grandchildren, Kalaeh Raine Hunt, Xander Bryant Dewayne Strickland, Willow, Kye McNeill and Jiraiya Hunt; and her pets, Saint, Prada and Sarge. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 8th 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Floyd Funeral Services (1549 Marion Stage Rd, Fairmont, NC 28340). A funeral service was held on Sunday, December 8th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Floyd Funeral Services Chapel (1549 Marion Stage Rd, Fairmont, NC 28340). A burial was held on Sunday, December 8th 2024 at the Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery (427 Gaddy Rd, Fairmont, NC 28340).
