He is survived by: his parents, Kenneth Ray Barfield of Fairmont, NC and Shevie Jean Locklear of Fairmont, NC; his grandmother Shirley Barfield of Orrum, NC; his sister LaShonda McCollum (Eddie) of Red Springs, NC; his aunt Bonnie Faye Hunt of Fairmont; his nieces, Savannah Tufino of Laurinburg, NC and Vanessa Tufino of Red Springs, NC; his nephew Jammy Jackson of Red Springs, NC; his great-niece Mariah Swinnie of Laurinburg, NC; and his friend Dale Lockley. He is also survived by uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

“Today is July 12, 2022. I just now received news that our dear Kendrick is not with us anymore. I knew Kendrick when he attended Chuckey Doak High school. He was one of 6 male students in my Math classes. He was very well like by his peers and myself as his teacher. We stayed in touch until he moved to North Carolina. He was a great student and he will be missed. His life in the end was different than what most people could survive. Love to your Mother. RIP my friend.”
