He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Matthew Bush and Kathleen Cagle Bush. He is survived by: his wife Diane Batton Bush; his children, James L. Staub Jr. (Sharon) of Augusta, GA, Laurie Lawrenson (Mark) of Pennsylvania and Lisa Staub of Los Angeles, CA; and his siblings, James Bush (Lela) of Oklahoma, Linda Floyd (William) of Raleigh, NC and Kathy Genter (Steve) of Rutherfordton, NC. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, and several nieces, nephews, great nephews, and cousins.
