He was predeceased by: his parents, James Brennan Matthews and Inez Coleman Matthews; and his sister Ruth Eleanor Matthews. He is survived by: his wife Jean Snipes Matthews; his daughters, Lisa Anne Matthews and Lynn Matthews-Lawson (Brad) of Lumberton; his sisters, Barbara Smith of Fairmont and Patsy Bullock (William) of Fairmont; and his grandson Brady Lawson.
Due to COVID-19 concerns, social distancing will be observed and masks will be required.
