It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Edward McKoy (Fairmont, North Carolina), who passed away on January 4, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Proctor McKoy and Katie Mae McKoy; his grandmother Bessie Yates; and his siblings, Carolyn Wallace and Stevie McKoy.
He is survived by: his sisters, Vicky McKoy, Keywanna Taylor of Fairmont and Yvonne McKoy of Lumberton; his nieces and nephews, Chandra McKoy of Fairmont, Deidra Taylor of Fairmont, Darlene Wallace of Fairmont, Denise Wallace of Fairmont, Melinda McKoy of Fairmont, Katie McKoy of Lumberton, Larry McKoy, Brian McNair of Fairmont and Michael McKoy of Lumberton; and his close friends, Felisha Edwards, Vilene McLean, Diane Seals, Maxine Jordan and Rev. Sammy Shropshire. He is also survived by great nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Macedonia Holiness Church (502 Madison St, Fairmont, NC 28340). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at the Fairmont Cemetery.
