He was predeceased by: his parents, Trussie Hunt and Lizzie Bell Oxendine Hunt; and his siblings, Dick Tracy, Shelton, Robert, Rockey, Redell, Harry Lee Hunt, Louise Marshall and Effie Mae Hunt.
He is survived by: his wife Rachel Hunt; his son Nelson Hunt, Jr. of Fairmont; his siblings, A. G. Hunt of Lumberton, Glenn Hunt of Charlotte, Hazel of Lumberton, Sandra Locklear of Lumberton and Linda Epps of Florida; his nieces, Cindy Williamson of Fairmont and Melissa Locklear of Lumberton; and his close friends, Felton of Fairmont, Darlene Jones of Fairmont and Wanda Locklear of Fairmont. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the McDonald Church of God (8669 NC-130 E, Fairmont, NC 28340). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 at the same location.
