He was predeceased by: his wife Agnes Barnes; his sons, Rickie Barnes and Karey Barnes; and his siblings, Roman Barnes, Richard Barnes, Bobby Barnes and Basha Hope.
He is survived by: his children, Patrick Barnes (Faye) of Barnesville, Michael Barnes of Fairmont and Alaine Deal of Virginia; his stepchildren, Jerry Stubbs (Jennifer) of Lumberton, Sheila Lee (Gerald) of Lumberton and Vickie Stubbs of Lumberton; his daughter-in-law Joyce Barnes of Lumberton; and his sisters, Nettie Rae Moore of Lumberton, Jean Evans of Bladenboro and Emma Clemmons of Wilmington. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
