It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ernest Chavis Jr. (Fairmont, North Carolina), who passed away on May 17, 2022, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Earlist Chavis; his wife Mary Lois Chavis; his daughter Lisa Chavis; and his brothers, Austin "Sandy" Chavis, Ralph Chavis and Martin Chavis.
He is survived by: his children, Dwight Chavis (Teresa) of Fairmont, NC, Tony L. Chavis (Daphene) of Fairmont, NC, Michael Wayne Chavis (Debra) of Fairmont, NC and Julie Chavis (Pint) of Fairmont, NC; and his siblings, Bobby Chavis of Lumberton, NC, Howard Chavis of Lumberton, NC and Agnes Mitchell (Harry). He is also survived by ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
