It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elizabeth Lewis Mitchell (Fairmont, North Carolina), who passed away on May 11, 2020, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Griffin Lewis and Opal Swett Lewis; her husband Willie James Mitchell; and her brothers, R. C. Lewis, Wilbert Lewis, Stanton Lewis and Doug Lewis.
She is survived by: her children, Willard Mitchell (Sarah) of Willow Springs, Bobby Mitchell (Chris) of Charlotte, Harry Mitchell (Agnes) of Lumberton, James Jr. Mitchell (Jackie) of Rowland, Ted Mitchell (Reginia) of Rowland, Bishop Kenny Mitchell (Debbie) of Rowland, Cathy Oxendine (Grant) of Lumberton, Darrel Mitchell (Teresa) of Rowland, Terry Mitchell (Melinda) of Rowland and Dwight Mitchell (Stefanie) of Rowland; and her siblings, James Winfred "Billy" Lewis of Fairmont, Lillian "Polly" Chavis of Michigan and Edith Johnson (Clifford) of Tennessee. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
