He is survived by: his wife Betty Deese of Lumberton; his sons, Anthony Deese of Lumberton, Charles Ray Deese of Lumberton, Scottie Deese of Lumberton, Jezreelite Deese of Lumberton, Lonnie Deese of St. Pauls and Tegulia Deese of St. Pauls; his sisters, Debbie Deese of Fairmont, Charlene Joseph of Fairmont and Anna Deese of Fairmont; his aunt Jeannette Deese of Lincolnton; and his close friend Marlena Landesman of Lumberton. He is also survived by twenty-nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
