She was predeceased by: her parents, Marion Wiley Bird and Edna Virginia Austell Bird; her husband John Mew; and her daughter Jennifer Carol Mew. She is survived by: her siblings, Tommy Bird of Indianapolis, Indiana, Jo Bird Conway (Don) of Monroe, N. C. and Marion Hester of Greensboro, N. C.. She is also survived by four nieces, three nephews, and multiple great nieces and great nephews; as well as six first cousins.
