He is survived by: his wife Hilda Potts; his mother Emma "Mammy" Oxendine of Fairmont, NC; his children, Josiah, Eli, Blaze Oxendine, Samantha Locklear (Donald) of Pembroke, NC, Shawnisty Hunt (Troy) of Richmond, Makayla Welsh (Richard) of Lumberton, NC and Heaven Oxendine; his siblings, Darnell Oxendine of Fairmont, NC, Ray Carson Oxendine of Fairmont, NC, Eugene Oxendine (Maria) of Conway, SC, Susan Locklear (Rudolph) of Rowland, NC, Sue Sanderson (Michael) of Fairmont, NC and Betty Locklear (Glenn) of Lumberton, NC; his grandchildren, Jascei, Mary, Da'nyla and Richard Jr.; and his close friends, David McNeil and Leon Blue. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Reedy Branch Baptist Church (3047 McDonald Rd, Fairmont, NC 28340). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, December 6th 2024 at the Reedy Branch Baptist Church Cemetery (3047 McDonald Rd, Fairmont, NC 28340).
