He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas Costa and Clara Costa; his wife Beverley; his son Scott; and his siblings, David and Nancy.

He is survived by: his brother Thomas (Emmie) of Windber, PA; his sons, Dr. Steven (Sharon) of Lumberton, NC, Dr. Craig of Bathgate and Christopher (Holly) of Katy, TX; his grandchildren, Jennifer of Sanford, NC, Danielle Pearce of Clayton, NC, Drexel and Weslynn of Katy, TX; and his great grandchild Ava Pearce.
