He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Leslie, Jr. and Maxine Boomer Simmons; and his sister Joanne S. Best. He is survived by: his wife Audrey Fisher; his children, Pamela S. Cahoon (Guire) of Swan Quarter, Joseph L. "Joey" Simmons IV of Fairfield and Donald Glenn Simmons (Kim) of Engelhard; his grandchildren, Brandy C. Pugh (Darrell), Daniel Cahoon (Sara), Averi Simmons, Joseph L. "Jay" Simmons, Anna S. Fincher (Brandon) and Donald Simmons; his great grandchildren, Danielle Pugh, Carl Wayne Pugh, Leah Cahoon, Landon Cahoon, Edwin Cahoon, Emmett Cahoon, Kylie Simmons, Lizzie Fincher and Kate Fincher; and his sisters, Betty S. Mann of Fairfield and Donna S. Nifong of Fairfield.
