It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Earl Lenew Carawan of Fairfield, North Carolina, born in Beaufort, North Carolina, who passed away on July 16, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Maxwell M. Carawan and Sara Barnette Carawan; his spouse Myrdis Blake; his granddaughter Stephanie Watson; and his brothers, Leland Carawan, Lester Combs, Chester Combs, Donny Carawan, Davy Carawan, John Carawan and Maxwell H. Carawan.
He is survived by: his son Ed Watson (Linda) of Swan Quarter; his grandson Sam Watson of Pamlico Beach; and his siblings, Debbie Bynum of Maysville and Danny Carawan of Engelhard.
