He was predeceased by: his parents, Emerson Hayes and Callie Irene Lane Hayes; his sons, John Wesley Hayes and Jeffery Hayes; and his siblings, Barbara H. McKee, Ronnie Gene Hayes, Judy Hayes, Brenda Hayes and Cathie Hayes.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Marie Angus Hayes; his children, Krystal H. Bledsoe (Jason) of Chadbourn, Shayla Dawn Hayes and Cody Allen Hayes; his siblings, Helen H. Nance of Lumberton, Billy Hayes of Whiteville, Joanne H. Shelton of Manchester, TN, Vicky Hines of Whiteville, Jerry Hayes of Whiteville, Deborah Simmons of Evergreen and Sherry Williams of Whiteville; and his grandchildren, Andrew Wells and Christian Hyatt.
