He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Evans and Fannie K. Evans; his wife Elizabeth "Lib" Evans; his son Richard Evans; and his siblings, Charles Evans, Riley Evans, Betsy Dorton and Margaret Pigford.

He is survived by: his children, Stephen Evans (Tommie Jean "T. J.") of Semora Beach, Paul Evans (Julie) of White Lake and Helen Bunch of Ocean Isle; his siblings, Alva Evans (Kate) of Mt. Gilead, Johnnie Evans of Efland, Jasper Evans (Sue) of Mooresville, Doris Danella of Wilmington and Nancy Watson (Bob) of Fuquay-Varina; his grandchildren, Dee, Jake, Katie and Molly Evans; and his close friend Betty Bowen.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Edgar Evans Memorial Fund c/o Lennons Crossroads Baptist Church, P.O. Box 867, Bladenboro, NC 28320.
