He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Barnes and Hazel Beatrice Spivey Barnes; his siblings, Ronald Barnes and Joyce B. Mazoo; his nephew Arthur Paul Cain; his niece Kenna Donielle Cain; and his father-in-law Floyd Pittman.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Pittman Barnes; his daughter Stephanie Barnes Miller (Richard); his grandchildren, Donald Thomas Miller and Morgan Ann Miller; his sister Deborah B. Cain (Kenny) of Lumberton; his mother-in-law Lola Pittman of Evergreen; and his brothers-in-law, John Pittman of Evergreen, Mitchel Pittman of Evergreen, David Pittman of Evergreen and Sidney Pittman of Lumberton. He is also survived by three nephews, eight nieces; several great-nieces and nephews, and a host of loving friends.
