He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Moore Doughtie and Arvilla Lang Doughtie; his son William E. Doughtie; and his siblings, Adell Cowper, Sarah Evans, Jessie Cutrell, Pilston and Wallace Ray Doughtie.
He is survived by: his wife Maralinda Eure Doughtie; his children, Terrie D. Ambrose (Al) of Corapeake, Daniel M. Doughtie (Donna) of Eure and Jeffrey A. Doughtie (Nita) of Eure; his brother J. C. Doughtie of Ahoskie; and his grandchildren, Corey Jones (Donnie), Ashley Preedy (Earl), Joseph Doughtie (Rikki Leigh), Jesy Smith (Abe), Jacob and Samuel Doughtie.
