It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alva Askew Felton (Eure, North Carolina), born in Gates, North Carolina, who passed away on July 5, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Thomas and Grace Lilley Askew; her husband J. Z. Felton; and her brothers, Tommy Askew and Elliott Askew (late Bertha).
She is survived by: her daughters, Janice F. Outland (Felton) of Sunbury and Luanne F. Dorsey (Wesley) of Gates; her sisters, Ann Yvonne Howell (Lowell) of Eure and Betty Lou Duell (Jimmy) of Smithfield, VA; and her sister-in-law Carolyn Askew of Eure. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
