He is survived by: his stepchildren, Dennis Johnson, Sharon Bottoms, David and Mike McConnell; his wife Sylvia Byrd; his daughters, Connie Bennett of Buies Creek, Carol McLeod of Buies Creek and Cathy Dixon (Shane) of Clinton; his grandchildren, Jamie Gilbert, Jason Bennett (Brittany), Ashley Carpenter (Tim), Amber Carney (Sean), Jonathan Bennett (Kimberly) and Jose Chavez (Jessie); his great grandchildren, Payton Carney, Keygan Gilbert, Mia Carpenter, Brynlie Carney, Wyatt Carpenter, Zane Bennett, Spensor McLeod, Nehemiah Bennett, Sylvie Bennett and Xander Bennett; his nieces and nephews, Kenny, Donnie, Rhonda, Scott Honeycutt and Gary Godwin; and his friends, James, Kathy, Jody, Analise, Rich, June Carpenter, Bobby and Mitzi White. He is also survived by many great-nieces, and nephews.
