It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lawrence Edward Patterson (Erwin, North Carolina), born in Atlanta, Georgia, who passed away on December 11, 2018, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his daughter April Lyn Patterson Loveless; and his siblings, Linda P. Rainsville, Junior, Gene, Marion, Billy, Richard and Ronald Patterson.

He is survived by: his spouse Jessie Hodges Patterson; his daughter Laura Ruth Patterson of Dunn; his grandchildren, Candace Hoover (Dan) of Erwin, Joshua Walsh (Maranda) of Dunn, Christa Eason (Nico Ciambotti) of Charlotte and Amber Crane (Trey) of Suffolk; his great grandchildren, Amara, Connor Walsh, Ethan, Isaac Hoover and Sawyer Crane; his son-in-law Doug Loveless of Erwin; his siblings, Barbara Almyda (J. R.) of Interlachen, Fla. and Buddy Patterson of Orlando, Fla.; and his siblings-in-law, Joyce Anderson of Angier, Jean Romines (Oliver) of Sevierville, Paulette Kennison (Bobby) of Godwin, Mary Patterson of Lake City, Donna Patterson of Sarasota, Fla., Tommy Hodges of Midlothian, Larry Hodges of Cullman and Jerry Hodges (Susie) of Dunn. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
