He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Godwin and Betty Bass Godwin. He is survived by: his close friend Nancy Cox; his children, Rodney Godwin (Celeste) and Cindy Aponte (Yamil); and his grandchildren, Ryan Godwin (Harley), Noah Godwin (Morgan), Jovan Aponte, Colby Aponte, Kurt Maynard (Angela) and Joshua Maynard. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Skinner & Smith Funeral Home Chapel (905 Erwin Rd, Dunn, NC 28334). A funeral service was held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
