With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Hazel Gregory Matthews of Erwin, North Carolina, who passed away on November 17, 2024 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Hubert C. Gregory and Dorothy M. Gregory; and her brothers, Oscar "Buddy" Gregory, Donnie L. Gregory and Cecil H. Gregory.
She is survived by: her husband Marshall L. Matthews; her sons, Lewis Gene Matthews of Erwin and Richard Cale Matthews of Erwin; her granddaughter Geena Elizabeth Matthews of Erwin; her sisters, Doris Sills of Dunn, Karen McLamb of Garner, Vickie Beavers of Dunn and Wendy Gregory of Wake Forest; and her pets, Augustus Rain and Gracie Matthews of Erwin. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Skinner and Smith Funeral Home (905 Erwin Rd, Dunn, NC 28334). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
