He was predeceased by: his parents, George Phillip Johnson, Sr. and Ruby Babcock Johnson; his wife Thelma Turlington Johnson; and his children, Nina Athey, Worth Snipes, Allen Snipes and Keith Snipes.
He is survived by: his children, Deborah "Debbie" Jones (Donald) and Terry Snipes (Linda); his daughters-in-law, Nancy Snipes, Janice Snipes and Diane Snipes; and his sisters, Joanne Stubbs and Phyllis Plenderleith (Ian). He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Erwin Chapel PFWB Church (135 Erwin Chapel Rd, Erwin, NC 28339). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Since Phil loved his church and faithfully gave his tithes, in lieu of flowers we request that any gift in his memory be made to Erwin Chapel PFWB Church.
