He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Leon Wilson and Bessie Pearl Ellis Dowdy; his son Travis Gary Conn Pounds; and his siblings, Woodrow "Woody" Dowdy, Peggy D. Eason and James Larry Dowdy.
He is survived by: his wife Catrina C. Dowdy; his sons, David Wilson Dowdy (Robin "Kayla") of Coats and Daniel Troy Dowdy (Rebecca "Danielle") of Angier; his grandchildren, Layla Pearl Dowdy, Trevor Keith Dowdy, Gregory Lee Dowdy and Zachary Wilson Dowdy; and his brother Lewis Dowdy (Katie Jane) of Garner.
In accordance with NC-COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing and the three W's: wait, wash, and wear a face covering.
