He is survived by: his children, Leon Spears (Odessa) of Buies Creek, Martha Spears of Dunn, Naomi Spears of Dunn, Calvin Spears of Dunn, Shirley Spears of Dunn, Glenda Matthews (Eric) of Maryland, James Spears (Tanisha) of Raleigh, Catherine Spears of Lillington, Carolyn Spears of Bunnlevel, Cleavern Spears (Carol) of Maryland, Dennis Spears of Willow Spring, Shawn Spears of Fuquay-Varina and Tommy Spears of Bunnlevel; his siblings, Colene Blue of Linden, Victor Spears (Rosetta) of Angier, Larry Spears (Joy) of Lillington and Nathaniel Spears (Shelia) of Lillington; and his sisters-in-law, Della Spears of Lillington, Mary Spears of Lillington, Louise Spears of Bunnlevel and Mary Williams. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be conducted Sunday, October 24, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Cape Fear A Conference Headquarters, 25 Beaver Road, Erwin, following the facility's guidelines for entrance, capacity, and social distancing.
