It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carolyn Puryear Smith (Erwin, North Carolina), who passed away on April 21, 2020, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. She is survived by: her son Matthew C. Smith (Shelia) of Plain View; her stepson Chris Jackson (Vivian) of Erwin; her siblings, Paul Puryear of Plain View and Ruth P. Denning (Charles) of Plain View; her sister-in-law Reba Puryear of Plain View; her grandchildren, Tina Comfort (Michael), Josh Harrington (Tammy), Dalton Smith (Jessica), Kristina Jackson, Lillian Jackson and John Toohey; and her great grandchildren, Anna Harrington, Jeremy Harrington, Dalton Colt Smith, Jr., Peyton Lee Smith, Kayden Michael Smith, Jaycob David Toohey, Preston Matthew Toohey, Leland Dalton Card, Kaylynn June Card, Lilyan Comfort, Mirabella Comfort, Michael Thomas Comfort Sr., Kayden Brantley Pate, Kaydence Lynn Pate, Ashlyn Grace Pate and Julian Wayne Harrington.
In accordance with current NC COVID 19 Guidelines, a public viewing will be held from 1 – 4 p. m. Thursday, April 23, 2020 at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Skinner & Smith Funeral Home.
