She is survived by: her children, David Carlos Smith III (Patricia) of Durham, NC, Daniel Ray Smith (Karen) of Richmond, VA. and Marie Smith Poston of Erwin, NC.; and her sister Barbara Ann Taylor of Erwin, NC..
