Betty Byrd Pate Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Byrd Pate of Erwin, North Carolina, who passed away on March 2, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, W. Hartwell Byrd and Mollie M. Byrd; her husbands, Hoyt Fowler and Malloy Pate; and her siblings, Jack S. Byrd and Kathryn B. Brown.
She is survived by: her children, Lynne Godwin (Paul) of Erwin and Wade Pate (Lisa) of The Villages, FL; her grandchildren, Nicholas Skatell (Kayla), Amanda Young (Tavarus), Chris Pate (Alicia), Jon Pate (Bethann) and Lauren Pate; and her great grandchildren, Alexia, Ty, Abigail, Titus Young, Cayson, Emilia Skatell, Ava, Collin Pate, Stark and Vivi Pate. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM at the South Erwin Baptist Church (300 S 12th St, Erwin, NC 28339). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
