He was predeceased by: his parents, Edna White Carroll and James "Jamie" Adrian Carroll; and his siblings, Sydney, Richard, John, Robert "Bobby" Carroll and Adelaide Price.
He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Carroll; his children, Lori Bagley (Steve), Beth Trent, James A. Carroll III and David Lancaster (Robin); and his sisters, Alice White of Virginia Beach, Adelia Whelan (Teany) of Virginia Beach, Nellie Leonardson of Virginia Beach and Adell Eden of Mathis, Texas.. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
