He was predeceased by: his parents, Ike Jarels and Millie Bishop Jarels; and his brothers, Roger Jarels and Wayne Jarels. He is survived by: his wife Glenna Jarels of Ennice; and his children, Betty (Michael Barker), Barbara (Greg Miller), Lucretia Zena of Roanoke, Virginia, Timothy (Patty Coleman), Lynwood Jarels of Hardy, Virginia and B. J. Jarels of Rocky Mount, Virginia. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
