He is survived by: his wife Jo Ann Spencer of Engelhard; his children, Chris Spencer of Hampton Virginia and Heather Lansdell (David) of Richmond Virginia; his parent Judy Broughton Spencer of Winterville; his sister Jennifer Thomas (William) of Winterville; his stepchildren, Richard Smith (Lauren) and Kimberly Reese (Cristopher) of Newport; his grandchildren, Caitlyn, Christina, Lyla, Landon and Alexis; his niece Ashleigh; his aunts, Mary Tilgman and Pam Andrews; and also, Rebecca Moore of Hampton Virginia, Dale Smith and Cassie Smith.
