It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mattie Berry of Engelhard, North Carolina, born in Beaufort, North Carolina, who passed away on November 5, 2020, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel Toppin and Mary Elizabeth Overton Midgett; her husband Earl Jackson Berry; her daughters, Phyllis C. Hagwood and Barbara K. Berry; her stepson Bradley Berry; and her siblings, William E. Midgett, Robert D. Midgett, Gene A. Midgett, Franklin Rudolph, Doris M. Clayton, Mary A. Robinson, Jackie Williams and Nancy Brickhouse.
She is survived by: her daughter Martha B. Harris (Frederick) of Winterville; and her sisters, Mildred Chrismon and Melba Ambrose.
