He was predeceased by: his parents, James Battle and Lilly Mable Deans Blinson. He is survived by: his wife Glenda Gibbs; his daughters, Chrystal Lee of Engelhard, Stephanie Boggs (Jim) of Clayton and Anita Martinez (Joe) of Raleigh; his grandchildren, Hannah Boggs, Sarah Boggs, Gloria Martinez and Brandon Martinez; his siblings, Tommy Blinson (Kay) of Hampton, NC, Bobby Blinson (Bonnie) of Whispering Pine, NC and Becky Cobb (Dennis) of Clayton; and his sister-in-law Becky Blinson of Smithfield. He is also survived by forty five nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.
