He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilton Atimore Gibbs and Ercell Rethelle Gibbs; and his sister Marylin Farrow. He is survived by: his wife Linda H. Gibbs; his children, Jessie Robert Gibbs Jr. of Engelhard and Becky G. Berry (David) of Scranton; and his siblings-in-law, Sam Eburn Jr. (Janet) of Fairfield and Shirley Farrow (Jeff) of Engelhard.
