It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Amanda Schmitt of Engelhard, North Carolina, born in Beaufort, North Carolina, who passed away on November 21, 2021, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel Webster and Maribelle Gibbs Sears; her husband Robert "Bobby" Schmitt; and her brothers, Daniel Webster Sears, Jr. and Nathan Sears.
She is survived by: her son Bryon G. Schmitt (Elsa) of Engelhard; her grandchildren, Sydney Schmitt (Justin), Mandy Schmitt and Garrett Schmitt; her great grandchild Sterling Gray Schmitt; her siblings, Charles Sears of Fairfield, Marie S. Barnhill of Williamston, Marlis Smith of Fairfield, Sara S. Meekins of Engelhard, Mary Armstrong (Jerry) of Fairfield and Janet Russ (Anthony) of Fairfield; her goddaughters, Kristie Sisson (Kevin) of Raleigh and Marianna Russ of Fairfield; and her close friend Maryanne Green.
