With solemn reverence, we commemorate Evelyn Hope Hales Clay of Enfield, North Carolina, born in Wayne County, North Carolina, whose life came to an end on September 22, 2024 at the age of 91, leaving behind cherished memories. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Wilbert and Martha Maybelle Hales (Robert Earl Clay); and her son William Robert Clay. She is survived by: her sons, Phillip Clay, Michael Clay, James Clay (Jennifer) and Henry Clay; and her grandchildren, Brian, Brandon Clay of Rockford Illinois, Zachary Clay, Aarron Clay, Brianna Clay and Micheal Crickmore. She is also survived by several great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 25th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service (507 US-158, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870). A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 26th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Elmwood Cemetery.
