He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Gould Simpson, Sr. and Jeanne Marie Prevost Simpson. He is survived by: his wife Alma L. Simpson of Emerald Isle; his children, Lisa Simpson of Emerald Isle, Douglas E. Simpson of Emerald Isle and Lester G. "Tripp" Simpson, III of Silverthorne, Colorado; and his sister Jacquelyn Floreen of Chapel Hill. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
